It is very hard to understand why Tabcorp has changed it so phone betting will close at 9:00pm instead of 11:00pm like it has always been. You’d think that with all these fast-growing corporate bookmakers becoming more and more successful of late that they would be doing more to encourage punters to bet with the TAB, not go and bet anywhere else.

The main point people are arguing with this issue is how its going to effect Moonee Valley and Canterbury night racing meets, but let’s not forget; many harness and greyhound meets run beyond 9:00pm so how is this doing them any favours?

Corporate bookies would be laughing at this, because they know that it just means more customers for them, but Racing Victoria is just as annoyed as punters are. They say that it obstructs the ‘Racing to 2020’ plan.
